Arab Women: A Discrete Sexuality

In my area, the quranists have their own community and the liberal Muslims have their own community and we’re not really aware of the other community, but either way both are classified as tiny, deviant, heretical sects by the majority. Whereas mainstream Muslims might mistakenly group us, quranists together with liberal Muslims, I think we would consider mainstream Muslims and liberal Muslims to be closer to each other because both groups mainstream Muslims and liberal Muslims still follow the Sayings of the Prophet. On the other hand, liberal Muslims might consider Quranists to be closer to mainstream Muslims because both are fundamental. But this is all just ‘my original research’. I just want to start a discussion to question this statement and if possible even to remove this statement and add a clarifying statement that ‘Quranism is actually not a liberal movement within Islam’. What do you people think? There are so many errors that I don’t know where to start from. Maybe the reason is that the main feature of “Quranism” is not to follow any human authorities, and therefore each one may have their own view. For example, prayer times:

Arab Women: A Discrete Sexuality

Any Muslim female caught having sex with a non-Muslim can be charged with adultery and punished accordingly – with a punishment that can range from simply being cast out socially to outright death, with everything in between possible. I had all the difficulties in the world to convince my then companion not to “marry” her Arab lover formally – despite his insistence – since that marriage before Allah would have made her a Muslim, with no way out apostasy, getting out of Islam, is punishable by death.

There are no exceptions for men or women in this regard, and they are punished equally according to marital status. The religion of the other person does not pertain to this matter at all – both parties are punished. Non muslim women are not required to convert to Islam, when marrying a Muslim man, as long as they’re christian or jewish. If the man insists, then it is the matter of cultural norm and not religion. Non muslim men who are christian or jewish do not need to convert either when marrying a muslim woman – but this is a controversial topic with most clerics leaning towards the opposition of this.

Most of these men convert to Islam on paper just to please the girl’s family and the Imam. We have enough idiots out there misinterpreting Islam as it is – so please educate yourself before you start spreading such non-sense. What is the alcohol percentage? I might become interested in Islam after all. Are there bars and stuff in heaven or is it just rivers? Or do physical laws apply in the supernatural heaven too? Why does Allah keep changing his mind on whether alcohol is legal or not in the Qur’an? Does the Qur’an also forbid the marula fruit which contains alcohol in its natural form? When used in moderation, there are numerous benefits in the consumption of alcohol. Shouldn’t Allah have only prohibited its abuse rather than give us an outright ban?

If life is a test, shouldn’t alcohol be legal in Saudi Arabia so Allah could test Saudis? Isn’t banning it in any Muslim country the same as cutting the forbidden fruit tree and interfering in Allah’s affairs?

This question is highly vexed and impossible to answer, as there are not one but many stances, not one but many Islamic schools of thought, and scholars have rightly offered much-needed criticism of the idea that there is one monolithic body called Islam that can be consistent over time and space, let alone have stances.

Friends and family embrace each other outside of Orlando, Florida’s police headquarters after the Pulse nightclub massacre on June Since I am no theologian, I defer here to thinkers who have meditated deeply on the place of sexual diversity within Islamic cultures. As scholar Khaled el-Rouayheb explains in his historical survey of same-sex desire in the Islamic world from to , sexual identity categories we use today have not been relevant Islamic categories.

The human subjects he studies may have engaged in copious amounts of same-sex acts without ever speaking of what they were doing in terms of identity, or developing communities of like-minded individuals around these practices. Muslims do believe, however, that it is their duty to seek out marriage and have children, which is not the same thing as sticking to a sexual orientation, though some have interpreted it as such.

In contemporary times, Western travelers to Islamic countries have marveled in bafflement at the ability of local men and women to engage in same-sex acts while remaining committed to child-bearing marriages. Or a different world? Or are humans by nature bisexual, with Arab and Muslim men better tuned into reality than Westerners?

Shia Islam Most Shia traditions regard the practice as obligatory. They rely on sayings that come from classical Shia authors. In one narration Muhammad was asked if an uncircumcised man could go to pilgrimage. They quote Ali as saying: Another narration from Al-Sadiq says: It is also believed that the urine of the uncircumcised is impure, while if one prays with unclean genitals their prayer may not be considered as acceptable, even of those who have been circumcised, meaning that it may have to be repeated again at a time when the believer has purified themselves and removed the impurity.

Another hadith of Muhammad states: He was circumcised with an axe qadum. September um 3: The most correct view is that it is obligatory in the case of men and Sunnah in the case of women. The difference between them is that in the case of men, it serves an interest which has to do with one of the conditions of prayer, namely purity tahaarah , because if the foreskin remains, when the urine comes out of the urethra, some of it will collect there, and this causes burning and infection every time the person moves, and every time the foreskin is squeezed, some drops of urine come out, thus causing najaasah impurity.
